Com’è nata la tua passione per il cosplay?

Iniziai a pensare di poter fare cosplay dopo che un’ amica me ne aveva parlato. Inizialmente mi sembrava una cosa un pochino strana, avevo da poco scoperto il mondo dei manga e degli anime, e i miei genitori non erano favorevoli a questa mia passione… Tuttavia dopo essermi impegnata nel realizzare il mio primo cosplay ed averlo indossato a Lucca comics 2010 non sono più riuscita a farne a meno, essere il personaggio che tanto ammiro o che sento vicino, per me è la gioia più grande, posso liberarmi dai problemi di tutti i giorni e sentirmi libera almeno per un giorno 🙂

C’è stato qualcuno che ti ha fatto da “mentore” nel mondo dei cosplay? O che comunque è stato il tuo punto di riferimento?

Mmmm…. diciamo che all’inizio mi sono arrangiata da sola: non sapevo nulla sul cosplay e i miei genitori erano ”contro” questa passione, l’unica cosa che potevo fare era mettermi in gioco e provare, fortunatamente fin da piccola mi è sempre piaciuto creare oggettini e disegnare, di certo questo mi ha aiutato molto…..poi col passare del tempo ho conosciuto tante persone fantastiche che mi hanno dato moltissimi consigli sia su nuovi materiali da utilizzare sia su come creare diversi oggetti ^^ è anche grazie a loro che sono migliorata e ho cominciato ”ambientarmi” nel mondo del cosplay.

Qual è stato il primo cosplay che hai fatto?

Road Kamelot da D.Gray–man 😀 l’ammirazione per questo personaggio mi ha spinto ad entrare nel mondo del cosplay (è troppo figa).

Invece qual è stato il cosplay che ti è piaciuto di più fare?

Credo Kate Hoshimiya da Sekai Seifuku: Bouryaku no Zvezda 😀 sebbene non sia il cosplay più complicato tra quelli che ho portato è stato il primo che ho realizzato interamente da sola, mi sono sentita tanto soddisfatta a lavoro finito ^^

L’ultimo cosplay che hai fatto qual è stato?

Non contando le versioni in costume da bagno fatte per le fiere estive, è stato Aldra da Queen’s Blade: Rebellion.

C’è un personaggio di cui vorresti fare il cosplay ma che ancora non hai fatto?

Ce ne sono tantissimi ç_ç troppi XD ma direi Inori Yuzuriha da Guilty Crown, sono tre anni che la rimando XD il prossimo anno non ho scuse ! La devo assolutamente fare ^^

Di solito come avviene la scelta di un cosplay da realizzare?

Prima di tutto devo amare il personaggio, tendenzialmente non faccio cosplay di personaggi che non suscitano in me alcun interesse… di solito scelgo personaggi a cui voglio assomigliare oppure a cui mi sento vicina perché rispecchiano il mio carattere 😀 ah questo implica che io abbia visto, letto, o giocato alla serie da cui è tratto il personaggio ù.ù non potrei altrimenti comprenderli e non sentirei la voglia irrefrenabile di vestire loro panni 😀

Quanto tempo ci vuole per creare un costume?

Dipende da quanto è complesso in media la ricerca della parrucca, la costruzione degli accessori e la creazione del cosplay stesso può richiedere da un mese fino a tre mesi o addirittura di più (io spendo tantissimo tempo nella scelta dei tessuti e della parrucca ù-ù soprattutto per le parrucche e le lenti faccio liste infinite per poi scegliere quella che più assomiglia all’ originale). Inoltre occorre mettere in conto anche gli impegni della vita quotidiana che, nel mio caso, non sono mai pochi .

C’è qualcuno che ti aiuta nella preparazione dei costumi? Gli accessori te li crei da sola o li compri da qualche parte?

Fino a poco tempo fa io creavo accessori e parrucca, poi sceglievo le stoffe e le portavo ad una sarta che cuciva il cosplay su misura, tuttavia da un po’ di tempo ho cominciato a cucirmi i costumi da sola 🙂 ho iniziato con costumi semplici e spero di migliorare per crearne sempre si più complessi in futuro 😀 anche perchè la soddisfazione a lavoro finito è impagabile.

Hai partecipato a dei contest durante le fiere, ecc… , hai mai vinto qualche premio?

Sì anche se è da un po’ che non faccio gare in singolo 🙂 sì per lo più sono premi legati alla somiglianza o all’interpretazione 😀 mi diverto molto a preparare la scenetta però prima di salire sul palco sono sempre agitatissima e mi tremano le gambe >//////<

Che vuol dire per te essere cosplayer?

Per me essere cosplayer significa poter dimenticare le preoccupazioni di tutti i giorni, poter essere qualcuno che tanto ammiro e divertirmi conoscendo persone fantastiche che condividono la mia stessa passione 😀

Uno dei tuoi cosplay migliori è Purple Heart dal videogame Hyperdimension Neptunia ha una parrucca molto bella, è stato difficile trovarla?

Decisamente XD ho letteralmente scansionato tutti i siti internet e di acquisti online per trovarne una che mi soddisfacesse, alcune erano troppo corte e non sarebbero bastate per realizzare le lunghe trecce tipiche della sua acconciatura altre invece erano di un colore decisamente sbagliato, troppo tenue o troppo scuro, dopo una lunga ricerca ho trovato la parrucca perfetta su una sorta di ” ebay cinese” chiamato Taobao e ho sperato che arrivasse dello stesso colore e della stessa lunghezza descritti dal sito (scritto in cinese e di cui non capivo praticamente nulla XD)

Un altro bel cosplay è Aldra da Queen’s Blade. Qual è stata la difficoltà più grande nel creare questo cosplay?

È stata realizzare le calze che indossa ^^ era la prima volta che facevo una cosa simile u,u essendo le calze un tutt’uno con le scarpe e super aderenti alla gamba ho dovuto realizzarle in licra e ricoprire anche la scarpa, inoltre ho creato anche tutti i decori attorno alla coscia e alla caviglia tutt’altro che semplici 😀 fortunatamente un’amica che aveva fatto già un lavoro simile mi ha dato tanti consigli utilissimi *^* ( Perla Yuki no hana non ti ringrazierò mai abbastanza ❤ )

Per te quale parte della parola cosplay è più importante? “Cos” o “play”?

Posso dire tutte e due ? 😀 diciamo che sono due facce della stessa medaglia, l’una completa l’altra, se non ci fosse il costume non ci sarebbe il personaggio, e se non ci fosse l’interpretazione del personaggio sarebbe come mettersi dei vestiti a caso e farsi una passeggiata ù-ù poi play significa ”giocare” occorre ricordare che il cosplay è prima di tutto un hobby, le passioni in comune servono ad unire le persone , non a dividerle.

Anche il tuo cosplay di Kate Hoshimiya da Sekai Seifuku: Bouryaku no Zvezda mi piace molto, come mai hai scelto di fare questo cosplay in particolare?

Amo Kate è troppo carina e allo stesso tempo lotta strenuamente per il suo sogno! La conquista del mondo buahhahaha! L’anime è decisamente comico ma dietro nasconde un forte messaggio 😀 L’importanza di combattere per i propri ideali e soprattutto che l’unione fa la forza! I deboli, se si uniscono possono fare tutto, anche conquistare il mondo ;D

Qual è la tua presenza sul web? Hai un pagina su Facebook o un sito?

Ho una pagina cosplay, un canale youtube e un profilo su WorldCosplay.

Quali sono i tuoi progetti per il futuro?

Per ora riuscire a frequentare serenamente l’università, trovarmi un lavoretto e chissà magari andare a vivere per conto mio 😀

I sogni nel cassetto?

Mi piacerebbe tanto che un giorno i miei genitori accettassero la mia passione per il Giappone e il cosplay, supportandomi in quello che faccio, non che mi aspetti nulla di che…. ma per lo meno spero di non dover più vivere con l’ansia di veder sparire nel nulla i miei cosplay XD

The pleasure is all mine 🙂 Hello everyone I’m Itsuki, but if you want you can call me A-chan ^^

How was born your passion for cosplay?

I began to think that I could do cosplay after a my friend had told me about cosplay. Initially it seemed to me something a bit strange, I had just discovered the world of manga and anime, and my parents weren’t in favor of my passion … However, after I was engaged in making my first cosplay and I have worn it in Lucca Comics 2010, I haven’t been able to break away from it, to me is the greatest joy to be the character that I admire so much or that I feel close, I can get rid from the problems of everyday life and feeling free at least for a day 🙂

Who has introduced you to cosplay?

Mmmm …. let’s say that at the beginning I have arranged by myself I didn’t know anything about cosplay and my parents were ”against” this passion, the only thing I could do was try and get involved, fortunately since I was a kid, I always liked to create trinkets and to draw, certainly this helped me a lot ….. then as time goes on I have met so many great people who have given me lots of advice on both new materials to be used than on how to create different objects ^^ it’s also thanks to them that I have improved and I started to ”acclimatize” in the world of cosplay.

What has been the first cosplay that you have done?

Road Kamelot from D.Gray-man 😀 the admiration for this character has prompted me to enter the world of cosplay (it’s too cool).

Instead what has been your favorite cosplay?

I think Kate Hoshimiya from Sekai Seifuku: Bouryaku no Zvezda 😀 although it isn’t the most complicated cosplay among those that I brought this was the first one I made ​​entirely by myself, I felt so satisfied with the finished work ^^

What has been the last cosplay?

Not counting the versions in swimsuit made ​​for summer conventions, it was Aldra from Queen’s Blade: Rebellion.

What cosplay you would like to do in the future?

There are a lot ç_ç too much XD but I would say Inori Yuzuriha from Guilty Crown, for three years since I postponed XD next year I have no excuses! I absolutely do it^^

How do you choose a cosplay?

I must first love the character, I don’t tend to cosplay characters that don’t arouse any interest in me … I usually choose characters that I want to look like or whom I feel close because they reflect my personality 😀 ah, this implies that I have seen, read, or played the series that inspired the character ù.ù otherwise I couldn’t understand and don’t feel the uncontrollable desire to wear their skin 😀

How long does it take to create a costume?

It depends on how complex it is: / on average the search for the wig, the construction of the accessories and the creation of cosplay itself can take anywhere from a month to three months or even more (I spend a lot of time in the choice of fabrics and wig ù u especially for wigs and lenses I make endless lists and then choose the one that most resembles the original). In addition, you must also take into account the commitments of everyday life that, in my case, they’re neverfew.

Is there anyone who can help you in preparing the costumes? Do you create the accessories or do you buy them somewhere?

Until a short time ago I created accessories and wig, then I chose the fabrics and brought it to a tailor who sewed the cosplay on measure, however since some time I began to sew the costumes alone 🙂 I started with simple costumes and I hope to improve it in order to create more and more complex in the future 😀 also because the satisfaction in the finished work is priceless.

Have you ever participated in the contest during conventions? Have you ever won any prize?

Yes, even if it’s been a while that I don’t do contest in single 🙂 yes they are prizes mostly related to similarity or interpretation: D I love to prepare the sketch, however, before going on stage I’m always agitated and my legs tremble > ////// <

What means for you be a cosplayer?

For me to be a cosplayer means you can forget the worries of everyday life, to be someone who I admire so much and to have fun knowing great people who share the same passion 😀

One of your best cosplay is Purple Heart from the videogame Hyperdimension Neptunia that has a very nice wig, it was difficult to find it?

Definitely XD I literally crawled all websites and online shopping to find one that would satisfy me, some were too short and wouldn’t be sufficient to achieve the long tresses of her typical hairstyle others were of a clearly wrong color, too tenuous or too dark, after a long search I found the perfect wig on a sort of ”Chinese ebay” called Taobao and I hoped that it came the same color and the same length as described by the website (written in Chinese and I didn’t understand practically anything XD)

Another nice cosplay is Aldra from Queen’s Blade. What was the biggest challenge in creating this cosplay?

It was to create the socks that she wears ^^ it was the first time I did a similar thing u,u the socks being one with the shoes and super adherent to the leg I had to realize them in lycra and also cover the shoe, I also have also created all the decorations around the thigh and ankle far from simple 😀 luckily a friend who had already done similar work has given me so many useful tips * ^ * (Perla Yuki no hana I can’t thank you enough <3)

For you, what part of the word cosplay is more important? “Cos” or “play”?

Can I say both? 😀 They’re two sides of the same coin, one integrate the other, if there wasn’t the costume there wouldn’t be the character, and if there wasn’t the interpretation of the character would be like putting clothes random and take a walk ù-ù then play means ”to play” it should be noted that cosplaying is first of all a hobby, passions in common serve to bring people together, not divide them.

I really like also your cosplay of Kate Hoshimiya from Sekai Seifuku: Bouryaku no Zvezda, why do you chose to do this cosplay in particular?

I love Kate is too cute and at the same time fight hard for his dream! The conquest of the world buahhahaha! The anime is quite comical but hides behind a strong message 😀 The importance of fighting for their ideals and especially that the union is strength! The weaks, if they come together they can do anything, even take over the world ;D

What are your projects for the future?

For now be able to peacefully attend the university, find a job and who knows maybe going to live on my own 😀

The dreams in the drawer?

I would love that one day my parents would accept my passion for Japan and cosplay, helping me in what I do, not that I expect anything of that …. but at least I hope I never have to live anymore with the anxiety to see disappear into thin air my cosplay XD
