Hello! My name’s Tanya and I’m Ukrainian girl from Kiev 😀

How was born your passion for cosplay?

Since my childhood I’ve dreamed of being an actress and cosplay gave me this opportunity.

Who has introduced you to cosplay?

When I became fan of Lara, I searched information about this game and found photos of Jenny Morgan. She was the first girls, which I saw in Lara’s costumes. She has shown me what cosplay is 🙂

What has been the first cosplay that you have done?

Standard costume from Tomb Raider The Angel of Darkness 😀 I was 15 and it was awful!

Instead what has been your favorite cosplayer?

Meagan Marie :3

What has been the last cosplay?

Ripped black dress from Tomb Raider Legend 🙂

What cosplay you would like to do in the future?

Catsuit from five part of Tomb Raider!)))

How do you choose a cosplay?

I’m cosplaying only Lara Croft during 8 years…  Everyone already changed characters, but not me.  I don’t know why, but I can’t cosplay another characters. I’m faithful to Lara.

How long does it take to create a costume?

It depends on difficulty of costume.

Is there anyone who can help you in preparing the costumes? Do you create the accessories or do you buy them somewhere?

Of course! My boyfriend Alex Beyket makes my costumes and accessories :3

Why did you do Lara Croft’s cosplay? What attracted you to this icon of video games?

She’s an ideal for me and I want to be like her. If not Lara – who else? I’m similar with Croft by character (I’m not home girl and like travelling), I prefer military style, active rest, stalking and so on. When I cosplay Lara  I want to show strong character first of all, mysteriousness and interest in adventures.

I really your cosplay of Tomb Raider: Reborn. What was the biggest challenge in the making of this cosplay?

Thank you^^ This costume one of the most difficult! Too much accessories, blood and dirt 😀 The biggest challenge to create was boots and bow…

For you what’s the best part in cosplay? The “cos” part or the “play” part?

The “cos” part is significant, but I think the “play” part more important.

Have you ever participated in the contest during conventions? Have you ever won any prize?

Yes, At IGROMIR 2012. It was a competition on best Lara cosplay. I have won a widescreen monitor 🙂

Have you ever been in conventions outside your country? Have you ever been in Italy for a convention?

IGROMIR – it’s Russian exhibition, so yes. I have never been in Italy 😦

What means for you be a cosplayer?

To make what you love, to be happy…

Costume standard da Tomb Raider The Angel of Darkness 😀 Avevo quindici anni e il costume era orribile!

Come scegli i cosplay?

Faccio solo cosplay di Lara Croft da otto anni…  tutti hanno cambiato i loro personaggi, ma io no.  Non so perché, ma ma non posso fare altri personaggi. Sono fedele a Lara.

Quanto tempo ci vuole per creare un costume?

Dipende dalla difficoltà del costume.

C’è qualcuno che ti aiuta nella preparazione dei costumi? Gli accessori te li crei da sola o li compri da qualche parte?

Certo! Il mio ragazzo Alex Beyket fa i miei costume ed accessori :3

Perché fai i cosplay di Lara Croft? Cosa ti ha attirato in questa icona dei videogame?

E’ un’ideale per me e voglio essere come lei. Se non Lara –  chi altro? Sono simile a Croft per carattere (Non sono una ragazza che sta a casa e mi piace viaggiare), preferisco lo stile militare, riposo attivo, l’inseguire e così via. Quando faccio il cosplay di Lara  Voglio mostrare un forte carattere prima di tutto, poi mistero e interesse per le avventure.

Mi piace molto il tuo cosplay di Tomb Raider: Reborn. Qual è stata la più grande sfida nella realizzazione di questo cosplay?

Grazie ^^ Questo costume è stato uno di quelli difficili! Troppi accessori, sangue e sporco 😀 La più grande sfida è stata creare l’arco e gli stivali…

Qual è la parte migliore del cosplay? La parte “cos” o la parte “play”?

La parte “cos” è significativa, ma penso che la parte “play” è più importante.

Hai partecipato a dei contest durante le fiere, ecc… , hai mai vinto qualche premio?

Si, alla IGROMIR 2012. E’ stata una competizione per il miglior cosplay di Lara. Ho vinto un monitor widescreen  🙂

Sei mai stata a convention fuori dal tuo paese? Sei mai stata ad una convention in Italia?

IGROMIR –  è una convention russa, quindi si. Non sono mai stata in Italia. 😦

Che significa per te essere una cosplayer?

Di fare quell che ami, di essere felice…

Hi! I’m flattered to be asked for the interview, thank you. I wouldn’t like to give my real name for privacy. So I’d prefer to be known as Koizumi Saeko. I’m a Russian cosplayer. Besides cosplay I have other hobbies like dancing k-pop, drawing and so on.

How was born your passion for cosplay?

At my first convention I saw a lot of cool cosplayers and the atmosphere was so warm, friendly and cheerful all around those people that I couldn’t help wishing to become a cosplayer too.

Who has introduced you to cosplay?

Well, I don’t remember when I found out about cosplay, but there sure was my friend, Zero, who introduced me to it. Once he suggested our visiting a convention called Tanibata in 2009 in Rostov-on-Don, and after that cosplaying for that convention the next year.

What has been the first cosplay that you have done?

My first cosplay was Yuuki Cross from the anime Vampire Knight. I couldn’t do a photo session for a long time, but I managed it this year.

Instead what has been your favorite cosplay?

Frankly speaking I’m not sure which cosplay is my favourite. All of them have lots of mistakes and things to be improved. But to my mind the cosplay of Shiro is on a higher level than others. If it’s not so I’ll feel upset, because it’ll mean that I haven’t made any progress for three years lol.

What has been the last cosplay?

My last cosplays were Shiro from Deadman Wonderland and Kasugano Haruka from Yosuga no Sora.

What cosplay you would like to do in the future?

I’m going to cosplay Junko from Danganronpa for the autumn convention which will take place at the end of October. As for the next cosplay plans, I’d prefer to keep them a secret for a while.

How do you choose a cosplay?

Usually I start watching some anime and in 99% of cases I find at least one character that I like a lot. As a rule it always turns out that the characters I choose suit me well. I wouldn’t cosplay a character if I see that I don’t look like him.

How long does it take to create a costume?

This matter is dependent on the financial and territorial conditions. For me it’s better to start half a year before a convention if the cosplay is difficult. If it’s quite easy, two months will be enough. It takes Russian cosplayers so long to finish their cosplays because the delivery service leaves much to be desired and it’s not rare that some people are left without their cosplay wigs on the day of convention.

Is there anyone who can help you in preparing the costumes? Do you create the accessories or do you buy them somewhere?

I prefer my mom to sew a costume for me. She is a great and creative seamstress. She was the one who made my costume for Busujima Saeko (Highschool of the Dead). There were also some other costumes made by her, but I haven’t had the photo sessions yet. In times when my mom is busy I order the costumes from ebay or hand-tailor. The accessories I usually make together with my friend or, if they are to be sewn, my mom makes them.

What’s the best part in cosplay? The “cos” part or the “play” part?

I think that both parts are equally important and fun, though I’m not very good at “play” part yet.

I think of your best cosplay is Saeko from Highschool of The Dead. Why did you choose to do this character? And the costume’s wig is perfect, it was difficult to find?

I love all about zombie that’s why I liked this anime the most. At first I thought about cosplaying Rei, but I hate her personality, she is too bitchy. Then I took a liking to Saeko. The wig I ordered from one of ebay sellers, he made it according to the picture. There wasn’t a suitable wig for Saeko back then, so I’m really thankful to that seller.

I really like your cosplay of Shiro from Deadman Wonderland. What was the biggest challenge in the making of this cosplay?

Well, considering that I don’t sew the costumes myself there was only difficulty in finding the right fabric for it. It also was rather painful to wear a heavy chain that was wrapped all around my body. Such chains are usually used to lock the doors or block the pass.

Have you ever participated in the contest during conventions? Have you ever won any prize?

I participated as a k-pop dancer together with my friends, but there were no prizes for k-pop, as it was the anime convention. But everybody was delighted by our show and we were invited to the other convention, though many from our team couldn’t go to another town.

No, I haven’t been abroad yet, unfortunately.

It’s my hobby and it takes a lot of my time, but I like it a lot.

Com’è nata la tua passione per il cosplay?

Alla mia prima convention ho visto molti cosplayers belli e l’atmosfera era così cordiale, amichevole e allegra tutta intorno a queste persone che non potuto fare a meno di sperare di diventare una cosplayer anch’io.

Chi ti ha introdotto nel mondo del cosplay?

Beh, non ricordo quando ho scoperto del cosplay, c’era sicuramente il mio amico, Zero, che mi ha introdotto ad esso. Quando ha suggerito di andare a visitare una convention chiamata Tanibata nel 2009 a Rostov-sul-Don, e dopo di questo abbiamo fatto il cosplay per la convention dell’anno dopo.

Qual è stato il primo cosplay che hai fatto?

Parlando francamente non so quale cosplay sia il mio favorito. Tutti hanno molti errori e cose da migliorare. Ma nella mia mente il cosplay di Shiro e ad un livello più alto degli altri. Se non è così mi sento turbata, perché vuol dire che non ho fatto alcun progresso in tre anni lol.

L’ultimo cosplay che hai fatto qual è stato?

I miei ultimi cosplay sono stati Shiro da Deadman Wonderland e Kasugano Haruka da Yosuga no Sora.

Quale cosplay vorresti fare in futuro?

Farò il cosplay di Junko da Danganronpa per la convention autunnale che si svolgerà alla fine di ottobre. Per i prossimi cosplay in programma, preferisco tenerlo segreto per un po’.

Come scegli i cosplay?

Di solito mi metto a guardare alcuni anime e nel 99% dei casi trovo almeno un personaggio che mi piace molto. Come regole si scopre sempre che i personaggi che scelgo mi calzano bene. Non vorrei fare il cosplay di un personaggio se vedo che non gli assomiglio.

Quanto tempo ci vuole per creare un costume?

La questione dipende dalle condizioni territoriali e finanziarie. Per me è meglio iniziare un anno e mezzo prima di una convention se il cosplay è difficile. Se è abbastanza semplice, due mesi saranno abbastanza. Ci vuole così tanto ai cosplayer russi per finire i loro cosplay perché i servizi di consegna lasciano molto a desiderare e non è raro che alcune persone vengono lasciare senza le parrucche per il loro cosplay nel giorno della convention.

C’è qualcuno che ti aiuta nella preparazione dei costumi? Gli accessori te li crei da sola o li compri da qualche parte?

Preferisco sia mia madre a cucire un costume per me. E’ una sarta grandissima e creativa. E’ stata lei che ha fatto il costume per Busujima Saeko (Highschool of the Dead). Ci sono altri costume che ha fatto lei, ma non ho ancora fatto le sessioni fotografiche. Nei momenti in cui mi madre è occupata ordino i costume sue e-bay o dal sarto. Gli accessori di solito il faccio insieme al mio amico o, se bisogna cucirli, ci pensa mia madre.

Qual è la parte migliore del cosplay? La parte “cos” o la parte “play”?

Penso che entrambe le parti siano divertenti e importanti, anche se non sono ancora molto brava nella parte “play”.

Penso che il tuo cosplay migliore sia Saeko da Highschool of The Dead. Perché hai scelto di fare questo personaggi? La parrucca del costume è perfetta, è stata difficile trovarla?

Mi piace tutto sugli zombie ecco perché mi è piaciuto molto l’anime. All’inizio avevo pensato di fare il cosplay di Rei, ma odio la sua personalità, è troppo bisbetica. Quindi mi è iniziata a piacere Saeko. La parrucca l’ho ordinate da un venditore di ebay, l’ha fatto in accordo al disegno. Non c’era una parrucca adatta per Saeko al tempo, quindi sono davvero grata al venditore.

Mi piace molto il tuo cosplay di Shiro da Deadman Wonderland. Qual è stata la più grande sfida nel fare questo cosplay?

Allora, non cucio i costumi io stessa l’unica difficoltà fu trovare il giusto tessuto per esso. E’ anche stato piuttosto doloroso indossare una catena che è stata avvolta tutta intorno al mio corpo. Tali catene vengono usate, di solito, per bloccare le porte o bloccare il passaggio.

Hai partecipato a dei contest durante le fiere, ecc… , hai mai vinto qualche premio?

Ho partecipato come ballerina di k-pop insieme ai miei amici, ma non c’era premio per il k-pop, perché era una convention sugli anime. Ma tutti erano deliziati dal nostro show e siamo stati invitati ad un’altra convention, anche se molti del nostro team non sono potuti andare nell’altra città.

Com’è nata la tua passione per il cosplay?

Sono sempre stata appassionata di fumetti e manga giapponesi ma il cosplay l’ho conosciuto al mio primo Romics 5 anni fa! Mi sono divertita moltissimo e da li è cominciato tutto.

C’è stato qualcuno che ti ha fatto da “mentore” nel mondo dei cosplay? O che comunque è stato il tuo punto di riferimento?

Veramente non ho avuto nessun mentore, però spesso mi sono ispirata ad alcune cosplayer americane.

Qual è stato il primo cosplay che hai fatto?

Il mio primo cosplay fu Sakura di Naruto.

Invece qual è stato il cosplay che ti è piaciuto di più fare?

Fino ad ora il mio preferito in assoluto è Dark Phoenix.

L’ultimo cosplay che hai fatto qual è stato?

L’ultimo cosplay che ho fatto è Ariel la sirenetta, la mia principessa preferita 🙂

C’è un personaggio di cui vorresti fare il cosplay ma che ancora non hai fatto?

Vorrei tanto fare Lady Sif (versione film di Thor) – Super Girl ecc

Di solito come avviene la scelta di un cosplay da realizzare?

Quando mi innamoro di un personaggio faccio del tutto per poterlo fare come cosplay.

Probabilmente il tuo cosplay migliore è la Dark Phoenix tratta dai fumetti della Marvel, dimmi come mai hai scelto questo personaggio per farne il cosplay e quanto è stato difficile trovare la parrucca perfetta per questo cosplay?

Io ho sempre amato gli X-Men e quando ho visto la versione dark di Fenice me ne sono subito innamorata. La parrucca è stata abbastanza facile da trovare perché ho scelto il rosso che mi stava meglio e l’ho presa.

Ho notato che hai fatto vari cosplay dei personaggi della Marvel, come mai? E hai in programma di farne altri?

Perché amo la Marvel e penso che ogni personaggio sia fantastico. Della Marvel vorrei fare Lady Sif – Mistica versione fumetto – Peggy Carter.

Qual è stata la più grande difficoltà nel creare il cosplay di Loki?

I pantaloni sono stati difficilissimi perché non si riuscivano ad attaccare i rombi per fare le squame.

Quanto tempo ci vuole per creare un costume?

Dipende dal costume, io di solito ci metto qualche mese.

C’è qualcuno che ti aiuta nella preparazione dei costumi? Gli accessori te li crei da sola o li compri da qualche parte?

Alcune volte vengo aiutata da mia mamma, e gli accessori incarico qualcuno più esperto (quando sono davvero impossibili da fare).

Hai partecipato a dei contest durante le fiere, ecc… , hai mai vinto qualche premio?

Non faccio spesso gare, perché sono quasi sempre truccate. Ho partecipato una volta con una mia amica e abbiamo vinto!

Che vuol dire per te essere cosplayer?

Riuscire ad interpretare il personaggio scelto quasi alla perfezione, impegnarsi il più possibile e riuscire a creare cosplay sempre migliori e naturalmente divertirsi al massimo.

Ancora non lo so però vorrei continuare a fare cosplay.

Hi, my name is Shantel Knight aka Zombie Bit Me

How was your passion for cosplay born?

I’ve always loved dressing up. I can’t remember when I was doing something strange with clothes or costumes. After highschool I moved to the big city and was able to grow this passion and actually attend conventions.

Who has introduced you to cosplay?

Linda Le introduced me to the name “cosplay” and by that I realized what I had been doing and from there on I wanted to get professional with it after seeing her stuff and idolizing it

What has been the first cosplay that you have done?

The first costume I ever made was my Phoenix (x-men) costume. It was a challenge since had never completely sewn something before.

What has been your favorite cosplay?

My favorite cosplay would have to be my Skyrim costume, not only is it super comfy to wear but I always feel bad ass!

What has been the last cosplay?

The last cosplay I made that is fully finished was my Sailormoon x Zombie Bit Me costume. I made a mash up of the Scout and my own character for Anime North and I had a lot of fun in it. Probably the only time you will see me in that much pink. HAHA!

What cosplay you would like to do in the future?

Fem Master Chief is a long awaited goal I want to achieve in the future.

How do you choose a cosplay?

I usually go by something I’ve read/watched/or played recently that I really enjoyed or have enjoyed in the past growing up and from there I choose my fav character whom I always tend to relate to in a way.

How long does it take to create a costume?

All depends on the costume, some have taken me a day others have taken up to 4 months.

Is there anyone who can help you in preparing the costumes?

My mom is an amazing lady and she always helps me out when she can and when I need it.

Do you create the accessories or do you buy them somewhere?

All depends, I’ve made some accessories and I’ve bought some. I’ve made some props and I’ve bought some.

I really like your Skyrim’s cosplay, the armor and the helm are amazing. What was the biggest challenge in the making of this costume?

This costume was actually one of my easiest, that only took me two days to make. I guess making the helmet was the challenge since I wanted it to fit my head and I wanted to see out of it.

Your version of Deadpool is awesome, why did you choose to do a cosplay of the crazy Merc with a mouth?

I love him and all the crazy things that come out of his mouth. His personality is a very comical one whilst still being way too cool (;

I think your cosplay that I like the most is Catwoman, you look a lot like Selina and you have the right attitude. So what was the best thing in making this cosplay?

Wearing this costume was the best part about making it. I’ve always loved Catwoman growing up and to finally get to be her was awesome.

Have you ever participated in the contest during conventions? Have you ever won any prize?

The first year I went to Fanexpo in 2011 was the first time being in a masquerade and I won a prize for best novice handy work and awesome performance which was pretty cool! Now I sit behind the lines and usually am judging or hosting them.

Have you ever been to conventions outside of your country?

No I have not sadly. I really want to be able to come out of Canada to attend other cons around the world.

What does it mean for you be a cosplayer?

Ciao, il mio nome è Shantel Knight aka Zombie Bit Me.

Com’è nata la tua passione per il cosplay?

Ho sempre amato travestirmi. Non ricordo di un momento in cui stavo facendo qualcosa di strano con vestiti o costumi. Dopo la scuola superiore mi sono spostata in una grande città e sono stata in grado di far crescere questa passione e di andare alle convention.

Chi ti ha introdotto nel mondo del cosplay?

Linda Le mi ha introdotto al nome “cosplay” e da questo ho realizzato cosa avevo fatto e da quel momento ho voluto diventare una professionista dopo aver visto i suoi costumi ed averla idolatrata.

Qual è stato il primo cosplay che hai fatto?

Il primo costume che abbia mai fatto è il costume di Phoenix (X-men) costume. Fu una sfiga dato che non avevo mai completamente cucito da sola prima.

Invece qual è stato il cosplay che ti è piaciuto di più fare?

Il mio cosplay preferito è il mio costume di Skyrim, non solo perchè è super-confortevole da indossare ma anche perché mi sento sempre bad ass!

L’ultimo cosplay che hai fatto qual è stato?

L’ultimo cosplay che ho fatto che è tutto finite è stato il mio costume my Sailormoon x Zombie Bit Me. Ho fatto un mash up di Scout e il mio stesso personaggio per Anime North e mi sono divertita molta. Probabilmente l’unica volta in cui mi vedrete in così tanto rosa. HAHA!

Quale cosplay vorresti fare in futuro?

Fem Master Chief è un obiettivo a lungo atteso che voglio conseguire in futuro.

Come scegli i cosplay?

Di solito vado con qualcosa che ho letto/visto/ o giocato recentemente che mi è piaciuto molto o che mi è piaciuto nel passato crescendo e da qui scelgo il mio personaggio preferito con cui tendo sempre di relazionarmi in un certo modo.

Quanto tempo ci vuole per creare un costume?

Tutto dipende dal costume, alcuni mi hanno preso un giorno altri mi hanno preso quattro mesi.

C’è qualcuno che ti aiuta nella preparazione dei costumi?

Mia madre è una donna fantastica e mi aiuta sempre quando può e quando ne ho bisogno.

Gli accessori te li crei da sola o li compri da qualche parte?

  Tutto dipende, ho fatto alcuni accessori e altri li ho comprati. Ho fatto alcune prop e alter le ho comprate.

Mi piace molto il tuo cosplay di Skyrim, l’armatura e l’elmo sono fantastici. Quale è stata la più grande sfida nella preparazione di questo costume?

Questo costume in realtà è stato uno dei più semplici, mi ci è volute solo due giorni per farlo. Penso fare l’elmetto è stata una sfida perché volevo che calzasse la mia testa e volevo vedere fuori da esso.

La tua versione di Deadpool è fantastica, perché hai scelto di fare il cosplay del pazzo Merc with a mouth?

Lo amo e amo tutte le cose folli che gli escono dalla bocca. La sua personalità è molto comica ma allo stesso tempo è davvero cool (;

Penso che il tuo cosplay migliore sia Catwoman, sembri proprio Selina e hai il giusto atteggiamento. Quindi qual è stata la cosa migliore del fare cosplay?

Indossare il costume è stata la parte migliore. Crescendo Ho sempre amato Catwoman e alla fine riuscire ad essere lei è stato fantastico.

Hai partecipato a dei contest durante le fiere, ecc… , hai mai vinto qualche premio?

Il primo che andai alla Fanexpo nel 2011 fu la prima volta che partecipai ad un contest e vinsi il premio per miglior lavoro pratico da principiante e per la prestazione impressionante che è stata davvero fico! Ora siedo dietro le linee e di solito sono io che faccio da giudice o da conduttrice del contest.

Sei mai stata a convention fuori dal tuo paese?

No, non ci sono stata purtroppo. Vorrei proprio poter andare fuori dal Canada per andare ad altre convention per il mondo.

Che significa per te essere una cosplayer?

Beh, prendo la mia carriera di modella molto seriamente e essere in grado di farlo con il mio hobby preferito significa molto.

I’m Hini Tsuburagi, Spanish cosplayer.

How was born your passion for cosplay?
It was in 2004, a group of friends they were making a group of characters about the author Arina Tanemura and they insisted me to go with them. It wasn’t a great cosplay as I didn’t have a clue about this world and less about sewing.

Who has introduced you to cosplay?
An old friend.

What has been the first cosplay that you have done?
Ion Tsuburagi from manga I.O.N

Instead what has been your favorite cosplay?
I would say Yoko Littner from Gurren Lagann but maybe too Nancy Callahan from the movie Sin City, as for me it’s the one with the hardest work.

What has been the last cosplay?
Cana Alberona from manga and anime Fairy Tail.

What cosplay you would like to do in the future?
I have a lot of projects news or remakes from old cosplays, so I can’t say everyone but one of them is the Shunya Yamashita’s version of Rei Ayanami from manga and anime Evangelion.

How do you choose a cosplay?
The truth is that I don’t “choose” them, more like it’s a character that I like physically, outfit and personality. The characters that I like they are often a little similar between them.

I really liked your cosplay of Juliet Starling from Lollipop Chainsaw. Why do you choose this particular character?
Because from the first time the company announced Juliet and his videogame it fascinated me everything and on top of all, she.  Her personality, her face and that she is a zombie hunter (I love zombies) it affected me and I fell in love with her, on the other hand the cheerleader outfits I always like them. xD

I think that your cosplay of Yoko Littner from Gurren Lagann it’s one of the best that you have done. So tell me, what was the biggest challenge in doing this cosplay?
First of all, thank you ^^ I think the biggest challenge was finding a stockings with the same color that hers xDDDD. It was not much difficult doing this cosplay as I worked hard, maybe the sniper rifle and it’s not exactly as this cosplay it’s from 4 years ago and I was a little newbie, it was hard to find the materials etc for that looked like Yoko’s.

I really liked your wig in the cosplay of Kanu Unchou from Ikkitousen, it was difficult to find the perfect wig?

The Truth it’s that yes, it was hard to find the exact color so that could be the same as Kanu’s hair, but after looking like crazy I found it and at a great price.

How long does it take to create a costume?
It depends in the cosplay and my study that it can take more days or less, but if I work hard on them maybe with a couple of weeks as I don’t have sew machine and I make all at hand.

Is there anyone who can help you in preparing the costumes? Do you create the accessories or do you buy them somewhere?
I make all myself from 0 from sewing to accessories, sometimes I ask for help to friends with thinks I’m not sure how to do it.

Have you ever participated in the contest during conventions? Have you ever won any prize?
I didn’t participated never as it’s something really embarrassing for me going up a stage and so many people looking at me ^^”

Have you ever been to conventions outside of your country? And a convention in Italy?
I didn’t go but I would love to go to some outside Spain someday. Also I didn’t go to any convention in Italy.

What means for you be a cosplayer? 
For my being cosplayer it’s half my life, it’s more than a hobby, Cosplay it’s something great at the time to create costumes, wear them and having a great time with my friends, doing photoshooots… All it’s simply amazing! Working hard so they would finish perfects and see as little by little you go improving yourself. it’s a great satisfaction.

What are your projects for the future?
As I answered in a previous question they are too much ! but for this summer I have thought about: Asuka Kazama from Tekken, Ash Ketchum from Pokémon and Kasumi from Dead or Alive.

Alice from Disney movie Alice in Wonderland. It’s a character that I love since I was little and I always dreamed about having it someday.

Come scegli i cosplay?
La verità è che io non li “scelgo”, è più una cosa del tipo che un personaggio mi piace sia fisicamente, sia per il costume, sia per la personalità. I personaggi che mi piacciono sono spesso simili tra loro.

Perché la prima volta che la compagnia annunciò Juliet e il suo videogame, ogni cosa mi affascinò e su tutto, lei. La sua personalità, il suo viso e il fatto che è una cacciatrice di zombi (amo gli zombi) ha fatto presa su di me e mi sono innamorata di lei, dall’altra parte mi sono sempre piaciuti i costumi delle cheerleader. xD

Penso che il tuo cosplay di Yoko Littner da Gurren Lagann sia uno dei migliori che hai fatto. Quindi dimmi, qual è stata la più grande difficoltà nel fare questo cosplay?
Prima di tutto, grazie ^^ Penso che la più grande difficoltà fu trovare le calze del suo stesso colore xDDDD. Non è stato così difficile fare questo cosplay perché ho lavorato duramente, forse il fucile da cecchino  non è esatto perché questo cosplay è di Quattro anni fa e ero un alle prime armi, , non è stato semplice trovare i materiali ecc… per sembrare Yoko.

Mi è piaciuta molto la parrucca del tuo cosplay di Kanu Unchou da Ikkitousen, è stato difficile trovare la parrucca perfetta?

La Verità  è che si, è stato difficile trovare il colore esatto così come quello che dovrebbero avere I capelli di Kanu, ma dopo aver cercato come una pazza l’ho trovata e ad un ottimo prezzo.

Quanto tempo ci vuole per creare un costume?
Dipende dal cosplay e dallo studio che può prendere alcuni giorni o meno, ma se lavoro duramente magari  ci riesco in un paio di settimane perché non ho la macchina da cucire e devo fare tutto a mano.

C’è qualcuno che ti aiuta nella preparazione dei costumi? Gli accessori te li crei da sola o li compri da qualche parte?
Faccio tutto da sola da zero, dal cucire fino agli accessori, a volte chiedo aiuto ai miei amici con cose che non sono sicura come si facciano.

Hai partecipato a dei contest durante le fiere, ecc… , hai mai vinto qualche premio?
Non partecipo mai perché è qualcosa di veramente molto imbarazzante per me andare sul palco con così tante persone che mi guardano ^^”

Sei mai stata a convention fuori dal tuo paese? Sei mai stata ad una convention italiana?
Non ci vado ma mi piacerebbe andare da qualche parte al di fuori della Spagna. Inoltre non sono mai andata ad una convention in Italia.

Che significa per te essere una cosplayer? 
Per me essere una cosplayer è metà della mia vita, è più di un hobby, Cosplay è qualcosa di grande dal momento di creare i costumi, all’indossarli e al divertirsi con i miei amici, fare photoshooot… Tutto è semplicemente fantastico! Lavorare duramente così I costume sono perfetti e vedere pian pian come ci si migliora. E’ una grande soddisfazione.

How do you choose a cosplay?

Most often because I love the character’s personality. Sometimes because I loved the outfit, and it happens that it is to please a friend.

I think one of your best cosplay is the Black Widow from Marvel Comics, so tell me what’s the biggest difficult of this cosplay?

I loved the character of the outfit, and a friend proposed me a small group to Japan Expo on Saturday. It was an opportunity for me to finally make this costume.

Miku from Vocaloid is another of your cosplay that is very pretty and kawaii, especially the wig really fits you. It’s difficult to find the perfect wig?

Yes, it is difficult I think. I buy them on the Internet, then I cut them. It should be mostly adapted the bangs hairstyle of the character.

Is there anyone who can help you in preparing the costumes? Do you create the accessories or do you buy them somewhere?

In general I’m doing alone. Sometime for weapons or great accessory I ask help to my father to cut wood or drilling holes.

I often participate in the contest, and it happens to win prizes. To the big competitions like the WCS and the ECG, I have participated, but my group is always comes 2th.

Have you ever been to a convention outside your country? Would you like to come to a convention in Italy?

I’ve been in Belgium, Germany and Switzerland (all countries near me). In Italy I would love to go, but it’s a little farther away from where I live and I especially do not speak Italian.

What means for you be a cosplayer?

First of all have fun! Meet new people and have new challenges with new costumes.

Da quando sono piccolo amo indossare i costumi e armeggiare con cosa potessi trovare nell’attico dei miei genitori. Ho scoperto il cosplay all’età di sedicidiciassette anni su internet. E qualche anno dopo ho scoperto le convention sull’animazione giapponese.

Chi ti ha introdotto nel mondo del cosplay?

Su internet, cercando immagini per cucirmi il costume di Yuna per un party a scuola.

Qual è stato il primo cosplay che hai fatto?

Yuna da Final Fantasy X, ma non ho foto di quel cosplay. Poi è stata la volta di Yuko da XXX Holic.

Invece qual è stato il cosplay che ti è piaciuto di più fare?

Ho qualche esitazione tra Zelda e tra Rei da Highschool of the dead. Il primo mi piace molto, ma l’armatura e il grande vestito sono difficili da indossare. Mi piace anche il secondo ed è semplice da indossare per tutto il giorno.

La cosa più complicata è stata la cintura. Perché ha un design goffrato.

Ho visto che hai postato su Facebook una preview del cosplay di Kitana da Mortal Kombat. Perché hai scelto di fare questo personaggio da questa nota serie di videogame?

Mi piace il costume del personaggio, e un mio amico mi ha proposto di fare un piccolo gruppo alla Japan Expo per il sabato. E’ stata l’opportunità per me di fare finalmente questo costume.

Miku da Vocaloid è un altro dei tuoi cosplay che è molto carino e kawaii, soprattutto la parrucca ti sta molto bene. E’ stato difficile trovare la parrucca perfetta?

Si, è stato difficile penso. Le ho comprate su Internet, poi le ho tagliate. Dovrebbe essere per lo più adattate le frangette del taglio di capelli del personaggio.

C’è qualcuno che ti aiuta nella preparazione dei costumi? Gli accessori te li crei da sola o li compri da qualche parte?

Di solito faccio tutto da sola. A volte per armi o accessori grandi chiedo l’aiuto di mio padre per tagliare il legno o fare dei fori.

Hai partecipato a dei contest durante le fiere, ecc… , hai mai vinto qualche premio?

Partecipo spesso ai contest, e mi capita di vincere qualche premio. Alle grande competizioni come WCS e ECG, ho partecipato, ma il mio gruppo è arrivato sempre secondo.

Sei mai stata a convention fuori dal tuo paese? Sei mai stata ad una convention italiana?

Sono stata in Belgio, Germania e Svizzera (tutti paesi vicini a me). In Italia vorrei andare, ma è un po’ troppo lontana per dove vivo e soprattutto non so parlare italiano.

Che significa per te essere una cosplayer?

Prima di tutto divertimento! Incontrare nuove persone e avere nuove sfide con nuovi costumi.

My name is Bianca, but I usually go under my cosplay handle OwlDepot.

 

How was born your passion for cosplay?

 

A friend of mine suggested I dress up as Temari, from Naruto, for a Halloween party. He showed pictures on the internet of cosplayers, and I did some research into the hobby and decided to go to a con dressed up as some of my favorite characters at the time.

 

Who has introduced you to cosplay?

 

The internet and friends!

 

What has been the first cosplay that you have done?

 

Temari from Naruto. I believe I made her Chuunin Exam outfit first.

 

Instead what has been your favorite cosplay?

 

My favorite character to cosplay is Juvia Lockser from Fairy Tail. But currently, my favorite costume to wear is Muron Alexius, from Magi. It’s my first attempt at armor and it went better than I expected!

 

What has been the last cosplay?

 

My latest cosplay that I wore to a con was Francis Drake from Fate/Extra. I’m very pleased with how it came out for how much work I put into it.

 

What cosplay you would like to do in the future?

 

I would really like to do Byakuren Hijiri from Touhouh Project and Foo Fighters from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures. As well as MANY more Juvia costumes!

 

How do you choose a cosplay?

 

I usually base my character choices on if I like/love the character and if I think I’d look acceptable portraying that particular character. I’ve also been known to delve into an unknown series to fill a character for a friend’s group.

 

I saw that you’ve done many times different versions of a cosplay of Juvia Lockser a character from Fairy Tail. Why did you choose to do this character and it was difficult to find the perfect wig for this cosplay?

 

I really love how quirky she is. I find her obsession with Gray kind of funny since it’s so awkward the way she creeps on him. I had to decide on what type of blue to go with. In the manga her hair is usually a lighter blue shade, but in the anime it’s brighter. I went with a color closer to the anime version. I actually own three different wigs for her hairstyles!

 

I really like your cosplay of Boa Hancock from One Piece, what was the challenge in this costume?

 

Honestly the most challenging part was the making of Salome, her snake companion. He’s a stuffed snake about 13 feet long, and the head is carved furniture foam.

 

For you what’s the best part of doing cosplay?

 

The best part is bringing the character to life through the costume and the photography. I really enjoy working with photographers that know the character! I’ve met a lot of amazing people through this hobby, I can’t imagine my life without them.

 

How long does it take to create a costume?

 

Most of my costumes take an average of one to two weeks to finish.

 

Is there anyone who can help you in preparing the costumes? Do you create the accessories or do you buy them somewhere?

 

I usually make my own costumes. But there a few I have commissioned from a friend or taobao sellers. Most accessories are purchased through eBay, like jewelry or prop guns. But things I have to handcraft like my Elesa (Pokemon Black/White) head phones or my Muron necklace.

 

Have you ever participated in the contest during conventions? Have you ever won any prize?

 

I have participated in a masquerade once for a friend’s group, I believe we won Best Stage Presence.

 

Have you ever been to conventions outside of your country? And a convention in Italy?

 

I would love to go to a convention outside of the US, but that is an issue of money. Italy, would be amazing, even though I don’t speak Italian.

 

What means for you be a cosplayer?

Later this year I will be working on my 3DMG for my Ymir cosplay, from Attack on Titan. It’ll be an expensive investment, but I’ve been wanting to cosplay this for quite awhile. Making a prop like this will be a good challenge for me.

Il mio nome è Bianca, ma di solito sono nota con il mio nome da cosplayer OwlDepot.

 

Com’è nata la tua passione per il cosplay?

 

Un mio amico mi suggerì di vestiermi come Temari, da Naruto, per un party ad Halloween. Mi fece vedere le foto su internet di alcuni cosplayers, e feci qualche ricerca su questo hobby e decisi di andare ad una convention vestita come uno dei miei personaggi favoriti al tempo.

Qual è stato il primo cosplay che hai fatto?

 

Temari da Naruto. Credo che feci il suo vestito da Chuunin Exam per primo.

 

Invece qual è stato il cosplay che ti è piaciuto di più fare?

 

Il mio personaggio preferito di cui ho fatto un cosplay è Juvia Lockser da Fairy Tail. Ma attualmente, il mio costume che preferisco da indossare è Muron Alexius, da Magi. E’ il mio primo tentativo per un’armatura ed è venuto meglio di come mi aspettassi!

 

L’ultimo cosplay che hai fatto qual è stato?

 

Il mio ultimo cosplay che ho indossato ad una convention è stato Francis Drake da Fate/Extra. Sono molto contenta di come è venuto per quanto lavoro ci ho messo.

 

Quale cosplay vorresti fare in futuro?

 

Mi piacerebbe fare molto Byakuren Hijiri da Touhouh Project e Foo Fighters da Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures. Così come MOLTI altri costumi di Juvia!

 

Come scegli i cosplay?

 

Di solito baso le scelte dei personaggi di cui faccio cosplay se mi piace/amo il personaggio e se penso che sembro accettabile impersonando quel particolare personaggio. Sono anche conosciuta per approfondire una serie sconosciuta per interpretare un personaggio di un gruppo di amici.

 

Ho visto che hai fatto molto volte differenti versione del cosplay di Juvia Lockser un personaggio da Fairy Tail. Perché hai scelto di fare questo personaggio ed è stato difficile trovare la perfetta parrucca per questo cosplay?

 

Mi piace davvero tanto quanto è eccentrica. Trovo la sua ossessione con Gray piuttosto divertente dal momento che è così imbarazzante il mio modo in cui lo impaurisce. Dovevo decidere quale tipo di blu usare. Nel manga sono di solito di una tonalità più leggera di blu, ma nell’anime la tonalità è più brillante. Ho deciso di usare un colore più simile alla tonalità dell’anime. In realtà possiedo tre parrucche differenti per i vari stili dei suoi capelli!

 

Mi piace molto il tuo cosplay di Boa Hancock da One Piece, qual è stata la sfida più grande nel fare questo costume?

 

Onestamente la parte più difficile è stata fare Salome, il suo compagno serpente. E’ serpente di stoffa lungo 13 piedi, e la testa è intagliata foam per mobili.

 

Per te qual è la parte migliore nel cosplay?

 

La parte migliore è portare in vita il personaggio attraverso il costume e la fotografia. Mi piace molto lavorare con i fotografi che conoscono il personaggio! Ho conosciuto moltissime fantastiche persone tramite questo hobby, non posso immaginare la mia vita senza di loro.

 

Quanto tempo ci vuole per creare un costume?

 

La maggior parte dei miei costume prende una media di uno fino a due settimane per essere finiti.

 

C’è qualcuno che ti aiuta nella preparazione dei costumi? Gli accessori te li crei da sola o li compri da qualche parte?

 

Di solito faccio li faccio io i miei stessi costumi. Ma ci sono alcune volte in cui ho commissionato ad un amico o a un rivenditore taobao. Molti degli accessori sono comprati attraverso eBay, come gioielli e pistole. Ma alcune cose le devo fare io artigianalmente come le mie cuffie di Elesa (Pokemon Black/White) o la mia collona di Muron.

 

Hai partecipato a dei contest durante le fiere, ecc… , hai mai vinto qualche premio?

 

Ho partecipato ad un contest una volta con un gruppo di amici, penso che abbiamo vinto il Best Stage Presence.

 

Sei mai stata a convention fuori dal tuo paese? Sei mai stata ad una convention italiana?

 

Mi piacerebbe andare ad una convention fuori dagli USA, ma c’è il problema del denaro. Italia, sarebbe fantastico, anche se non so parlare italiano.

 

Che significa per te essere una cosplayer?

 

Essere una cosplayer significa divertimento e  godersi il proprio lavoro. Ho un grande senso di realizzazione e di orgoglio quando ho completato un cosplay.

Hi, my name is Sophia, also known as Madame Spontaneous =)

How was born your passion for cosplay?

It was born with my passion for Manga, Anime and Games. In 2003, I went to a convention in Germany and saw all the cosplayers, and then I want to do a cosplay too! =)

Who has introduced you to cosplay?

All my friends, started cosplay in 2003. We started together, once we were on the convention.

What has been the first cosplay that you have done?

It was Kenshin Himura from the Mange “Kenshin”. It was horrible, but I loved the character and I did it all by myself, without any experience. xD

Instead what has been your favorite cosplay?

I adore Lilith! But I think my newest one, could be my favorite cosplay! Harley Quinn from Batman: Arkham Asylum

What has been the last cosplay?

Harley Quinn =)

What cosplay you would like to do in the future?

A new cosplay from Harley, Firehawk Lilith… Let’s see what comes xD

How do you choose a cosplay?

The most important thing, for chosing a cosplay, I have to like the character. Then I look; Fits the character? Do I like the outfit?

I really like your cosplay of Lilith from Borderlands, especially I like the level of the details and that your cosplay seems really came out of the videogame. What was the biggest difficulty of this cosplay and why you’ve done this cosplay? 

Funnily the biggest difficulty was, the ease of her costume. It is more difficult to find normal things, which look as the outfit in the game. I had big problems with the chaps. It was difficult to find a good fake leather. I did the cosplay, because I love Lilith and I#ve played her on Borderlands and I like her style.

For you what’s best of the word “cosplay”, the “cos” part or the “play” part?

I can’t decide me! XD Making a cosplay is for me relaxing. This hobby is creative and varied. But I like to wear it too, I like to make poses with cosplay.

How long does it take to create a costume?

In working hours; 100-200 hours scattered over 6 months.

Is there anyone who can help you in preparing the costumes? Do you create the accessories or do you buy them somewhere?

I do the patterns and the clothings by myself without any help, I cut the wigs by myself, I do the cel-shading by myself on every costume I’ve done. My friend helped me coloring the guns (Nerf-Guns).

Have you ever participated in the contest during conventions? Have you ever won any prize?

Yeah of course, my Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood group and me won the “Group Cosplay Contest”  at Connichi 2011, made the first place. With the same cosplay we won the official Cosplay-Contest from Ubisoft at gamescom 2012.

Have you ever participated in conventions outside your country? And have you ever been in an Italian convention?

No, not yet! I want to participate on conventions outside my country!

What means for you be a cosplayer?

To have fun, to be creative, it’s special for me =) I think, it is an hobby, with so many facets!

Come scegli i cosplay?

La cosa più importante, per scegliere un cosplay, mi deve piacere il personaggio. Poi vedo; il personaggio è adatto? Mi piace il suo costume?

Mi piace molto il tuo cosplay di Lilith da Borderlands, soprattutto mi piace il livello dei dettagli e che il tuo cosplay sembra veramente uscito fuori dal videogame. Qual è stata la difficoltà più grande di questo cosplay e perché l’hai fatto? 

Comicamente la più grande difficoltà fu la facilità del suo costume. E’ stato più difficile trovare cose normali, che dovevano sembrare come il costume del gioco. Ho avuto grandi problemi con i chaps. E’ stato difficile trovare del finto cuoio buono. Ho fatto il cosplay, perché amo Lilith e ho giocato con lei a Borderlands e mi piace il suo stile.

Per te qual è la parte migliore della parola “cosplay”, la parte “cos” o la parte “play”?

Non riesco a decidere! XD Fare un cosplay per è molto rilassante. Questo hobby è creative e vario. Ma mi piace anche indossare, mi piace posare con i miei cosplay.

Quanto tempo ci vuole per creare un costume?

In ore lavorative; 100-200 ore divise in oltre sei mesi.

C’è qualcuno che ti aiuta nella preparazione dei costumi? Gli accessori te li crei da sola o li compri da qualche parte?

Faccio i modelli e i vestiti da sola senza nessun aiuto, taglio le parrucche io stessa, faccio la cel-shading da sola in tutti i costumi che ho fatto. Un mio amico mi ha aiutato a colorare le pistole (Nerf-Guns).

Hai partecipato a dei contest durante le fiere, ecc… , hai mai vinto qualche premio?

Si certo, io e il mio gruppo di Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood abbiamo vinto il “Group Cosplay Contest”  a Connichi 2011, raggiungendo il primo posto. Con alcuni cosplay abbiamo vinto il contest ufficiale Cosplay-Contest da Ubisoft alla Gamescom 2012.

Sei mai stata a convention fuori dal tuo paese? Sei mai stata ad una convention italiana?

No, non ancora! Voglio partecipare a convention al di fuori del mio paese!

Che significa per te essere una cosplayer?

Divertirsi, essere creativa, per me è speciale =) Penso che, è un hobby, con molto sfaccettature!

Ciau a tutti, sono Denise alias Riumi, ho 22 anni e ho iniziato a fare cosplay nel 2007 con Sakura Haruno (1° serie), Lina (delle Mermaid Melody), Gretel (Black Lagoon), Morte Ashrea (World Destruction), Witch (Left 4 Dead), Etram (Dofus).

Com’è nata la tua passione per il cosplay?

A caso, un amico mi disse che assomigliavo come carattere a Sakura di Naruto e così ho deciso di portarla come cosplay XD

C’è stato qualcuno che ti ha fatto da “mentore” nel mondo dei cosplay? O che comunque è stato il tuo punto di riferimento?

No, nessuno.

Qual è stato il primo cosplay che hai fatto?

Sakura Haruno (Naruto 1° serie).

Invece qual è stato il cosplay che ti è piaciuto di più fare?

Gretel di Black Lagoon.

L’ultimo cosplay che hai fatto qual è stato?

Witch di Left 4 Dead.

C’è un personaggio di cui vorresti fare il cosplay ma che ancora non hai fatto?

Eve Nemesi da Elsword che è ancora in costruzione.

Di solito come avviene la scelta di un cosplay da realizzare?

Vedo se fattibile su base corporea, se ci sto bene se no non ci penso neanche.

Quanto tempo ci vuole per creare un costume?

Io li faccio fare su commissione, quindi non saprei fose un paio di mesi, ma dipende comunque dal tipo di cosplay.

C’è qualcuno che ti aiuta nella preparazione dei costumi? Gli accessori te li crei da sola o li compri da qualche parte?

Mi ha aiutato un’amica con Etram, e con gli altri altra gente che lavorava su commissione.

Hai partecipato a dei contest durante le fiere, ecc… , hai mai vinto qualche premio?

Ho partecipato a parecchi contest, ma mai vinto nulla e mai interessata a vincere.

Che vuol dire per te essere cosplayer?

Giocare con un costume di un personaggio, e, a mio parere più ci si assomiglia, più è divertente.

Mi chiamo Matilde Genovesi e sono un temibile pirata™! Beh, magari.. Per ora mi limito ad essere una studentessa universitaria con la passione per il teatro, i travestimenti e il trucco, finché non riuscirò a requisire una nave. Tidde per gli amici! E’ un nomignolo che mi porto dietro fin dalle scuole medie quando mi è stato affibbiato, così ne ho fatto il mio nickname un po’ per ogni cosa.

Com’è nata la tua passione per il cosplay?

E’ nata sicuramente troppo tardi! Nel 2009 un mio amico mi propose di fare un cosplay (al tempo quasi non sapevo nemmeno che esistesse quella parola!) per un gruppo a tema Batman Villains da portare a Lucca Comics, ed io, adoratrice della Catwoman di Michelle Pfeiffer, e allo stesso tempo sempre alla ricerca di un pretesto per travestirmi,  ovviamente mi esaltai come una liceale che riceve il suo primo invito al ballo della scuola.

C’è stato qualcuno che ti ha fatto da “mentore” nel mondo dei cosplay? O che comunque è stato il tuo punto di riferimento?

Direi di no, i miei ““mentori”” sono solo i personaggi che interpreto (o che interpreterò), hehe.

Qual è stato il primo cosplay che hai fatto?

Come ho detto prima, Catwoman. Il mio primo costume era sgangheratissimo e per niente somigliante all’originale, ma l’unica cosa di cui m’importava era solo di avere finalmente l’occasione per impersonare la mia eroina! Successivamente ho migliorato anche il costume e da tanto tengo a quel personaggio ne ho realizzato anche una versione alternativa, senza tuta di finta pelle, per poterla portare anche ad una fiera estiva senza morire di caldo (versione che tra l’altro mi è stata criticata tantissimo, ma onestamente m’importa una beneamata … !).

Invece qual è stato il cosplay che ti è piaciuto di più fare?

Non saprei proprio scegliere. “Tutti” risponderei..! Anche perché fino ad ora  ne ho fatti pochi e sono affezionata a tutti quanti. Posso dire però che mi diverto di più quando faccio cosplay con un gruppo a tema, perché amo “giocare” con gli altri nei panni dei nostri eroi, è come tornare bambini!

L’ultimo cosplay che hai fatto qual è stato?

Cammy White del videogioco Street Fighters, con costume riadattato per non andare a giro con le chiappe al vento, dahahaha..!

C’è un personaggio di cui vorresti fare il cosplay ma che ancora non hai fatto?

Ce ne sono almeno una decina! Dei più diversi universi, dalla Disney, alla Lucasart, al mondo del cinema, etc.. (ora ho in cantiere Rapunzel, Capitan Uncino, per completare Le avventure di Peter Pan, Malefica, Joker di Jack Nicholson, Guybrush Threepwood, …)

Di solito come avviene la scelta di un cosplay da realizzare?

Si tratta sempre di un personaggio che mi piace a tutto tondo, raramente scelgo per l’estetica o il design del costume. In genere succede più o meno così: rivedo/leggo/gioco un film/una serie/un fumetto/un cartone/un videogame che mi piace, mi esalto, e penso “NO VIA DEVO ASSULOTAMENTE FARE IL COSPLAY DI TIZIO!” Altre volte – per la mia gioia! – altri cosplayer o amici mi propongono di portare un gruppo a tema; se l’idea mi piace, beh.. piatto ricco mi ci ficco!

Quanto tempo ci vuole per creare un costume?

Dipende da quanto è complicato (Capitan Ovvio mode!), ci sono singoli accessori che ti fanno smattare anche per una settimana, considerato che mi occupo dei miei costumi solo nei ritagli di tempo.

C’è qualcuno che ti aiuta nella preparazione dei costumi? Gli accessori te li crei da sola o li compri da qualche parte?

Ad oggi quel che sono stata in grado di fare me lo sono sempre realizzata da sola, anche se magari non è venuto fuori un’opera d’arte. Ho molta più soddisfazione quando mi creo qualcosa con le mie capacità rispetto a quando me la compro su ebay..! I miei pochi cosplay sono tutti arrangiati, assemblati e low cost, ma sono soddisfatta di tutti. Alla fine è una passione, mica una gara a chi è più figa/o!

Hai partecipato a dei contest durante le fiere, ecc… , hai mai vinto qualche premio?

Nah, in genere faccio solo la sfilata nella fiera della mia città (CUSplay Pisa), che è ancora piccola. Non credo di poter competere con i lavori che portano i cosplayer  che partecipano ai contest, specie se di fiere importanti, perché come ho già detto i miei costumi sono arrangiati, e mi sono accorta che la parte “-play” – quella su cui mi piace concentrarmi – non sempre viene presa in considerazione nella maggior parte delle gare.. Per non parlare delle storie che ogni poco saltano fuori sulle raccomandazioni, gli intrallazzi e quant’altro.. Che tristezza hahaha! Menomale non è così ovunque. Un premio però l’ho vinto, al consorso fotografico del CUSplay Pisa 3 svoltosi su facebook, categoria Manifesto (svincolata dai Mipiace), così il primo piano della mia Catwoman è finito sul manifesto ufficiale dell’ evento, appeso per la città.

Che vuol dire per te essere cosplayer?

Sarò ripetitiva, ma, oltre che un piacevole passatempo che ti permette di conoscere tante persone, lo considero un modo per evadere dalla realtà ordinaria, per giocare, per tornare bambini. Gli adulti difficilmente giocano, io invece sono un’eterna Peter Pan (non a caso ne ho fatto il cosplay appunto!). Inoltre far vivere per un giorno un personaggio che esiste solo disegnato sulla carta (o interpretato da un attore) è come “ringraziare” quello stesso personaggio per quello che ti ha trasmesso …e ora molti diranno “Ma non puoi drogarti come tutti gli altri?” Hahaha!

Spero di riuscire a lavorare in teatro, in qualsiasi modo, che sia come attrice, come scenografa, costumista, truccatrice, alza-sipario, lucida scarpe, eccetera eccetera eccetera..! Nel frattempo, finirò l’università, anche se credo che, per i progetti che ho, la laurea mi servirà giusto per abbellire una parete.

I sogni nel cassetto?

Che domande, Disneyland!!! Sì, vabè, è un sogno di bambina, per quel che riguarda i miei sogni ad oggi, ho già risposto alla domanda precedente, perché preferisco chiamarli “progetti” e non voglio certo farli rimanere nel cassetto …però a Disneyland ci voglio andare!
